“Budget secrets those fat cats don’t want you to know…” – T. Grimshaw

“How to stick it Wall Street” – W.B Kershaw

“Healthy weight = Healthy savings” – S. Colaluca

Do you remember when you were a struggling student who took out multiple loans, saved every penny and stayed home on the weekends to prepare for the launch of your line?

The day an independent stockist rang you and said they would LOVE to have your first collection in store…

That afternoon you made it to the PRESS as you excitedly flicked through the magazine

Remember the feeling when you sat down with the buyers from David Jones & Myer. Do you remember the joy and elation you felt when they said you were going to be in EVERY store across Australia?

The success was addictive. You thought you would CAPITALISE on your venture.

You introduced a children’s line. Your quality stitching, sewing and designs for one eighth of the price. Genius you thought. Amazing!

But you didn’t count one thing into your cost…

Cocktails for Two

24 Aug 2010 , 9:24 | Posted In Blog Post | 2 Comments

Shaken or stirred?

The question dating back half a century, to a much simpler time.

Temptation, celebration and recuperation. Stress, anxieties and drama

Nowadays, it seems everyone is managing these issues with a nice, stiff drink.

Whether it be a hard day steering the ship

A work out at the gym

A work out at home

A tough day at the office

Or even after a good stretch

A shift in priorities can evoke a new sense of responsibility and a major revaluation of social commitments.

For quite some time now, I have struggled to find a balance. Sleeping no later than midnight on a Saturday evening and trading party dresses for pyjamas.

A routine that I have become accustomed to, I was beginning to think nothing would get me out of my Nana-like lifestyle.

Searching for answers, I turned to the good book, the book with all the answers, the book that showed me the way.

A book that excites every sense lifting readers to the “exotic realms of fantasy, tempting and excitingly eccentric, they invite you to escape to a rainbow brilliant world”.  H. Spence 1982

The questioned remained – How do I combine a love of fine literature, high fashion, photography, styling and alcohol all in one?

Within the first page, the words read like a sermon “You will need…To Serve… To Measure… To Blend“

Let us all tilt our glasses and say thanks to Mrs. Spence and her wonderful team of stylists for providing us with hours of in-house entertainment and amazing recipes.

Enjoy, indulge and drink responsibility!
