Parade & Party – Melbourne Spring Fashion Week

08 Sep 2011 , 12:47 | Posted In Blog Post | 1 Comment

On September 6th 2011, Young Republic & Fashion Rebel hosted an incredible Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Event. Championing Australian design talent on the global stage, over 300 guests showed their support in attending the exclusive City Series party.

After months of planning the community-style event, the time had come to boss around 30 dedicated stylists, make up artists, hair stylists, stage team, venue staff and models. I put my boss lady voice on, clutched my clip board and microphone and found every single member of the team to be patient, dedicated, professional and inspiring. An absolute joy.

Staged at Melbourne’s exquisite Baroq House, the chic venue was transformed into an incredible catwalk spectacular thanks to The Sound Factory. Attendees were wowed as local men’s,women’s and accessory designers El Amuleto, Banjara Jewellery, Coelho, Angie L Designs, Inspektor, Accompany by Imagery, Pine Lime, Denise SL Spalk & Monolog took centre stage with an unforgettable installation styled by the amazing Greg Dennis.

Bad, meet Evil… – Launch Party

18 Apr 2011 , 13:28 | Posted In Blog Post | 5 Comments

It was my first ever solo-event launch and I was representing the ‘Bad, meet Evil..’ brand.

With a small budget and limited time frame, it was a project that required intense effort and dedication.

The contemporary Treehouse venue was transformed into a chilled, soulful hangout for Melbourne’s fashion, hip-hop and design enthusiasts.

The crew from Crisp Entertainment…

Fjorde Magazine..

Jade & Irish from StyleZilla

Joseph Fonti & stylist/RAWW blogger Micah

The high calibre event exhibited Fonti’s debut-collection of graphic art and street-wear to a sea of stylish attendees.

Including.. The Real Pants Men - Besty & Mick

Alice from Warrior

Twins Adrian & Silvio

And heaps more..

An unexpected surprise, guests were treated to a rather satirical performance by Australia’s son of hip-hop, 360. Setting the scene for a fierce catwalk show, 360 had crowds in hysterics with his brazen hosting skills.

Enlisting the old-school talent of scratch-DJ Paolo, models worked the runway, confidently dancing to the sounds of Missy Elliot and Pharoahe Monch.

Local sponsors, The Real Pants Man and Warrior provided models with the latest in quality denim and footwear….

While guests nibbled on delicious Lolly-Kebabs provided by the Sweet & Nut Shop.

Thanks Wayne!

Far from bad or evil, the night was a true success, with many of Fonti’s original artworks being sold to collectors, fans and friends. Attendees pressed the tight-lipped designer for hints regarding the new-season range but, settled for a gift-bag courtesy of SPOOK magazine.

Thanks to my family and friends who were very supportive. Ttyl betches xox

Service: Strange

Decadent and colourful, flavoursome and fresh, these words best describe the classic-dishes on offer at Chimmy’s. Always enjoyed on a sunny afternoon, sit outside and take in the bustling vibe of Richmond with a strong latte’ in hand. Echoing an old-school cafe’ charm, the high calorie menu entices diners with traditional cakes, pastries, and desserts. While the ambience is rather uninspiring, Chimmy’s mask minor flaws with beautiful, oven-baked Artisan breads and excellent coffee. If you’re on the lookout for elegant breakfasts and contemporary lunches then be sure to check out the impressive menu at Chimmy’s.
