When did your passions transform into a career? Do you feel humbled by your experiences?
We were sick of not enjoying work, making other people happy, and seeing a lack of results.
Turning your passions into careers is something that is much easier said than done. Most of the time its a very bumpy road to take before you see some light but also extremely fulfilling. Mistakes need to be made along the way in order to learn, grow and succeed, obviously.
How important is it to support local trade?
It is very important. As an Australian label we appreciate the sense of identity that comes with supporting local designers. So much talent comes from Australia and it is something to be proud of.
Success –Frightening, fantastic… or both?
Success is sickeningly stimulating. Like getting a tattoo or drinking hard liqueur. It is very enjoyable but can also be destructive if not used the right way. Success is also subjective, sometimes stand back and look at your successes at a different light and they are merely stepping stones for the real deal.
Collective or Eclectic – How would you describe your own personal styles? Is that reflected in your designs?
Our own personal styles are largely influenced by the weather, pop culture, our moods, and being in the city of Sydney. So it would be a combination of laid back summer and city sophistication. We like to mix and match and aren’t afraid of colour which flatter us.
