*Service: Helpful, friendly - Not a vacant seat during lunch.
The industrialised suburb of Collingwood channels its working-class roots with the inclusion of Proud Mary. Fragrant Middle-Eastern spices, indulgent Southern-style breakfasts and traditional Italian flavours are infused into a seasonal, stylish menu. Reminiscent of lunchtimes in downtown-Manhattan, a combination of trendy locals and men-in-suits devour their meals, before heading back to the office. With Smith and Gertrude Streets just a few blocks away, it’s time to spill the Brazilian beans and let Melburnian’s taste the pride of Proud Mary.
Impressively decorated, the newly converted-warehouse permeates strong and intoxicating aromas from rich roasted coffee beans. The concrete floors, gorgeous wallpapering and fancy espresso machine are all excellent distractions for patrons waiting for the bustling kitchen to plate-up during the rush. A selection of comfort foods and contemporary dishes, the meals aren’t overly complicated. Anything from, Blueberry Scones with Lemon Curd to Chipotle Beans with Cornbread or House-Made Linguine with Prawns, Proud Mary is a great addition to the Melbourne brunch scene.

I thought the Ricotta Hotcake was dead? Noodle fire….
this place has one of the better brunch menus in melbourne. I have been twice and have enjoyed myself both times, the hot cakes are pretty good served with housemade ice cream and seasonal caramelised fruit (although i did share them with a friend, they are rather indulgent).
The coffee is really good too. When my long black came out the waitress gave me a rather detailed explanation on the bean roaat.
yummmmmm.
The coffee is better than 7 seeds
Great photos! Proud Mary looks delicious. I am unfortunately not from around that area, but have been known to trek far and wide for a delicious brunch! The hotcakes sound amazing, but so do the lamb kofte and goat’s cheese tart… I think I might just have to make the journey
