An obsession can turn into an addiction if not channelled positively…A love of collecting can become a hoarder’s haven if the heart grows attached… And finding buried treasure can be a curse if you’re not willing to share it with the world…

Meet Michelle Glitman, the stylist, personal shopper and vintage collector who’s responsible for clothing thousands of men and women in affordable, one-of-a-kind, designer pieces. Utilising the bounty of communicative opportunities via global networking sites, Michelle is determined to promote a unique and environmentally sustainable approach to vintage dressing through her site, MIISHKA Vintage.

MIISHKA Vintage has become a lucrative venture for the ambitious Melburnian, who’s impressive background in media, advertising and fashion have been a driving force behind the success of MIISHKA. With plans to launch a web-store and offer image consulting, Michelle has been busy styling for independent fashion magazines.  For now, all pieces are sold at local markets and online, while Michelle shows followers how to incorporate looks from the past into our wardrobe’s of the future.

Do you encourage people to get to know their local seamstress?

I definitely encourage clients to get to know their local seamstress.  My seamstress is key to the success of the business. I would be lost without her!  At times a beautiful piece will come in from overseas slightly damaged and we’re able to bring it back to life with the help of a seamstress’ magical hands.

What is your favourite vintage purchase? Is it hard to part with some of your finds?

My favourite purchase is a rare vintage Chanel caviar leather mini flap-bag

I find it a lot easier to part with my vintage finds now than I used to.  The thing about being exposed to so many amazing treasures everyday is that every time I see something beautiful leave something else just as or even more perfect finds its way to me.

Is their fierce competition among bloggers in Australia? How do you separate yourself from every other?

Australia is home to some of the world’s best bloggers, but blogging is essentially about having a voice so I think there is plenty of room for everyone..

The goal of my blog is to share inspirational and evocative imagery whether it be fashion, art or photography.

Can you describe the purpose of MIISHKA and why it’s different to any other vintage store?

Well, it’s all about You. Clothes are an expression of who we are and how we feel. Valuable steps are taken to source pieces that represent individuality, imagination & freedom. Decades upon decades of choice, with clothing that defines moments in time. It’s not your typical op shop with OTT 80′s flashbacks.

Hand picked Australian, European, South American & US vintage treasures, how can you go wrong?
