It starts from the feet up, not the head down. She echoes the style and sophistication of old time glamour in a contemporary world. Exotic and iconic, she effortlessly transports herself from the cobble stone streets of Italy to the sandy wooden piers in Bali. danYelle is cultured, passionate, expressive but never demanding. Her education in quality and attention to detail serves her well in this industry. She researches each fibre, each strand and every cut. Exploring new heights, comfort is paramount for a woman who travels in style.
She expects support and maintains balance with each step forward. Her worth is not defined by a monetary amount. She favours the power of value and not – the value of power. She is collected, dignified and respected. Constructing and labouring over her artistic footwear, she showcases them as wise investments. Argentinean leathers, delicate lamb wool, touchable suede and silky pony hair are classic combinations, pleasing on the eye. Cushioned for practically, danYelle’s transeasonal designs withstand the force of disposable trends and unpredictable climates.

What inspired you to start danYelle?
I’ve always been passionate about footwear. As an 8 year old girl I would decorate my athletics spikes, that says it all. Growing up, I would travel the world with my parents. My mother would purchase the most special pairs of shoes for me. They literally would last years and as I grew older, I realised that quality shoes don’t come cheap. It was difficult to source what I wanted so I began to design artwork for the feet.
How would you describe your current collections? Is this reflected in your designs?
Sydney is my home and it’s always been an inspiration. The people, lifestyle.. My family and close friends have been a continual source of inspiration and support, pushing me to my limits. Constantly sketching designs, seeing my vision come into fruition, it’s an amazing accomplishment.
As a full time flight attendant, I travel internationally on a weekly basis. The sights, smells and surrounds evoke a wave of creativity as I’m exposed to so much culture on a regular basis. I think this is reflected in my designs.
Who is this danYelle girl?
The danYelle girl loves to take chances. She’s sensitive to love, drawn to passion, takes chances and is adored by others.
How important is it to support local trade?
Supporting local trade is not only important for me as a designer, it extends and branches out to textiles, manufacturing, production, advertising, sales, retail and public relations coordinators. Young designers starting out like myself often collaborate with talented, up and coming individuals for post production purposes. We source some of the finest in their field, supporting each other.
What separates danYelle from other footwear brands?
I don’t design seasonally, we can experience 4 seasons in one day. My shoes should be in your wardrobe ready to wear in any climate, with tights or without.
