Jessica Constance & Katherine Etheridge are the ladies behind the label. The duo began their careers working extensively as stylists & interior designers before making the transition. Available in select stores and online, Dallas & Carlos combine an eclectic mix of Italian nappa leathers, Brazilian cow hide, sterling silver & gold carat plated materials into a vibrant, must- have collection.
If you’re head over heels for Moschino’s block letter bracelets, you’ve admired the chunky gold chain links of Stella McCartney and drooled over the delicate & edgy designs from Hermes… It’s time to drape yourself in a label that embodies all these influences with a splash of youth and colour. What inspired you to start the Dallas & Carlos?
We were both really into fashion from a young age- I studied fashion design in Milan before starting work as a stylist for 4 years in London, Paris & NYC. Katherine was working an interior designer. We were on our yearly summer trip in Brazil.
Initially we were thinking about sourcing cool Brazilian labels or creating our own swimwear line. We started with samples, bags and jewellery. We then approached a few stores in Australia and had a great response, which then lead us to our full SS10 collection.


How important is it to support local trade?
We definitely try to support local trade as much as possible. We are still manufacturing at least 50% of our ranges in Australia. Aside from supporting the local economy it’s also without doubt our most reliable, fastest and most the factory we use in Australia employees the most divine Italian men that have been working with leather for generations.
How would you describe your own personal style? Is that reflected in the designs?
Street meets beach – Simple cotton with denim basics, finished with rad shoes and accessories. We’re also partial to 1980s slogan print tee style- think Katherine Hamnett (the GO GO GO t shirts in George Michael’s ’87 clip “Wake me up”)
